There’s a report in the Turkish media that Erol Bulut is being lined up for the vacant Kocaelispor manager job.
The 50-year-old has been out of work since being sacked by Cardiff City early in the season. He’s ben waiting since late September for a new opportunity and one may have just come his way.
Cagdas Kocaeli report on Kocaelispor’s search for a new manager after the recent departure of İsmet Taşdemir. Despite guiding the club to promotion to the Super Lig, the parties have decided to go their separate ways.
Bulut is said to have held talks with Kocaelispor and is very much in the frame to fill the vacancy. The Izmit club finished this season as TFF 1. Lig champions.
Bulut arrived at Cardiff City 2023 and in his first season with the Welsh side he guided them to mid-table in the Championship.
Last summer, he signed a contract extension with the club, but after picking up just one point in the opening six games this season, he was sacked by the Cardiff City hierarchy.
Should he secure the job, he’s likely to face Ole Gunnar Solskjær next season, also formerly of Cardiff City and now doing well at Beşiktaş.
