Earlier this month, West Bromwich Albion appointed Eric Ramsay as their new manager, after parting ways with Ryan Mason.

The Welshman arrived at The Hawthorns after spending close to two years at Minnesota United FC. During his time in America, Joseph Rosales trained under his orders and Austin FC signed him in December.

Rosales is yet to make his debut for the club. In the meantime, West Brom have emerged as a surprise candidate to sign him.

On Wednesday, Diez reported the Baggies have an easy route to a deal by exercising the release clause. There was no mention of the figure involved.

Journalist Gustavo Roca explained the 25-year-old could immediately leave Austin FC for West Brom. He also stated Ramsay has explicitly asked the Championship side to sign his former player.

Another journalist, Alvaro De La Rocha, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to give his take. Although Roca insists West Brom could rapidly secure the player’s services, De La Rocha has now calmed things down.

He contacted Rosales’ entourage for an update and found out from that there has been no official approach from West Brom so far.

Ramsay could be pushing to sign the Honduras international as he previously managed him at Minnesota United FC. However, De La Rocha claims the English club’s manager hasn’t been in touch.

Rosales signed a contract with Austin FC until 2029, with an option for another year. De La Rocha adds the MLS side, as things stand, have no plans to immediately sell a player they signed a few weeks ago.

To sum it up, Rosales isn’t likely leave Austin FC for West Brom before Monday’s deadline. There has to be a drastic change for this to move to go through.
