Former Fulham midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa scored a vital first-half goal for Napoli in their important Serie A clash against Bologna yesterday.

The strike helped Antonio Conte’s side pick up a point from the game and kept them very much in the title race, as they are three points behind league leaders Inter Milan.

Zambo Anguissa’s presence in midfield has been quite transformational for the Naples club this season, with the Cameroonian having scored six goals in the league and also racking up three assists.

His form has become the talk of the Italian press and Tuttomercatoweb have looked at his situation in detail.

They believe that Zambo Anguissa’s exit from Fulham in 2021 was a ‘turning point’ in his career as this allowed him to later join the Partenopei on a permanent basis. He also won the league title under Luciano Spalletti.

He’s been described as a ‘pillar’ for the club in recent years and there’s some disbelief that Fulham, despite signing the midfielder for a record fee of £30m, agreed to loan him out initially to Villarreal and then to Napoli.

They paint all of it as a major source of regret for Fulham, considering how cheaply the Italian giants managed to sign him permanently in 2022.
