On Tuesday, journalist Gianluca Di Marzio stated AC Milan have scheduled a new meeting with Tottenham Hotspur between Wednesday and Thursday over signing Emerson Royal.
Later that day, Di Marizo said the Serie A side will negotiate ‘to the bitter end’ to try and get the deal over the line.
He didn’t mention any figures, and Gazzetta dello Sport provide more on that and Milan’s efforts to sign the Tottenham right-back.
Tottenham initially requested €30m to sell the fullback in the summer window. He had lost prominence under Ange Postecoglou last season, which led the Italian club insist to bring the asking price down to €18-20m or €15m plus bonuses.
The north London club haven’t yet opened the door to do a deal for these figures but are ‘ready to listen’.
It isn’t clear whether the Italian club will be able to find an agreement with Spurs during the meeting in the next few hours. The report says the case won’t drag for long, meaning these are the ‘decisive hours’ for Milan to sign Emerson.
The Brazilian favours a move to Milan despite receiving offers from other clubs. Emerson feels he can feature regularly at the San Siro, which is needed for him to return to the national team.
There should be more updates later today on this case.
