Antonio Nusa’s potential move to Brentford is not done with yet and a ‘deal is not off the table’ for now despite it collapsing at the end of January.
That’s according to Het Nieuwsblad, who cover the affair today and the ‘confusing and difficult times’ the youngster now finds himself in.
They explain that despite the transfer window being closed for now, it hasn’t brought an end to the speculation around Nusa regarding a possible move away to Brentford.
In terms of timing there is no deadline for them and Club Brugge to strike a deal and so a ‘deal is not off the table’ for the forseeable future.
It was always intended for Nusa to move to England in the summer anyway and so it is perfectly reasonable for the two sides to reach an agreement in the coming months.
The question is whether Brentford want that after doctors discovered a growth lesion around the cartilage in his knee during his medical.
According to Brugge, that is no reason to cancel the transfer, but Brentford naturally want to rethink before spending €37m on him and so have held ‘intensive consultations’ with the medical staff at Brugge and in the Norwegian national team.
A final decision has not been made but any suggestions Brentford will drop out have not been received by Brugge, who appear to think the opposite is the case for now.
In the meantime, Nusa is left waiting, with these proving to be ‘difficult and confusing times’ for the 18-year, who saw a dream move to London cut short for the time being.
Indeed, its been difficult for him to deal with the issues and the news of the injury issue has been a blow to him personally.
He now has to see if Brentford do pull away or decide to go through with things, which, at the minute, it appears they are undecided on.
