After being taken off during Manchester United’s match against Brentford at the weekend, Victor Lindelof was seen walking straight to the dressing room.
That became a worry not only for the Red Devils, but also for those covering the Swedish national team, as he’s in the squad for the upcoming games in the international break.
That’s why coach Janne Andersson was today asked about Lindelof’s situation, and quoted by Aftonbladet – who say there’s ‘question marks’ over his fitness, he didn’t sound very sure about the Manchester United plyaer.
“I have had contact with Lindelof. Hopefully there won’t be any major problems, but I don’t dare say that for sure. I do not have the medical team’s assessment, tonight I will find out exactly how it is,” said Andersson.
With so many injury issues in Manchester United’s defensive line, Lindelof ended up becoming an important piece for Erik ten Hag this season, and he’s already made ten appearances for the Red Devils, even starting as a left-back in their last game.
Sweden are playing Moldavia in a friendly on Thursday and then face Belgium in the Euros qualifiers next Monday. So there may be enough time for Lindelof to get fit for the match that really matters.
Manchester United will be back in action on the 21th of October, when they take a trip to face Sheffield United.
