Two days ago, Het Belang van Limburg reported KRC Genk’s Daniel Muñoz missed training to force a move to Crystal Palace.
On Thursday, the same newspaper stated the Belgian club want the Eagles to offer more money as their proposal is €4m short of the €10m demand. Later that day, journalist Pipe Sierra said Crystal Palace had made improved bid and Muñoz was urging Genk to accept it.
A fresh report from Het Belang van Limburg explains that the gap between offer and asking price is becoming smaller.
It’s claimed Crystal Palace are ‘starting to show’ they ‘really want’ to sign the right-back. Roy Hodgson’s side have raised their proposal to €8m and even though it’s still short of Genk’s request, there’s belief the deal could be carried out.
The Colombia international was present at the club yesterday, but didn’t train for the second day in a row. On Sunday, the Jupiler Pro League side will face STVV and the report claims the chances of the 27-year-old featuring are ‘very small’.
HBVL add it’s ‘increasingly likely’ the South American played his last game for Genk against Cercle Brugge last Saturday. T
Muñoz has seven goals and two assists to his name from 29 games this season.
There’s optimism the deal will go through as Het Laatste Nieuws state Muñoz will ‘probably’ move to Crystal Palace.
