Crystal Palace want to bring Dinamo Zagreb goalkeeper Dominik Livaković to the Premier League in the summer.
He joined the Croatian club on loan from Fenerbahçe in the winter market. The move has allowed him to feature regularly and he’s now caught Crystal Palace’s attention.
The 31-year-old didn’t enjoy regular game time in Turkey, after featuring regularly for the Istanbul club last season.
This caught the Premier League’s attention last summer, when Sport Witness had covered claims from Turkey of Nottingham Forest and West Ham United interest. The Premier League duo weren’t able to secure his services at that time.
Crystal Palace enter race
Dominik Livaković lost his place at Fenerbahçe after Ederson’s arrival from Manchester City lasts summer.
The Brazilian’s future remains uncertain and if he were to leave, the Croatia international could regain his No.1 spot with the Yellow Canaries. Dinamo Zagreb, for their part, would like to extend his stay but that that’s unlikely as of now.
That’s according to Germanijak, who say a summer move is ‘much more certain’ as there are offers for him.
Crystal Palace want to bring him to Selhurst Park. The stopper ‘could go to England’ as the possibility of moving to the Premier League attracts him.
The Eagles shouldn’t have an issue meeting the player’s salary demand and Fenerbahçe’s €5m price. In short, the offer from Oliver Glasner’s side ‘could satisfy’ both Livaković and his parent club.
That doesn’t mean the operation will certainly go through. Dean Henderson is the No.1 at the London club. It’s unclear whether the Croatian will be open to joining Crystal Palace if if Henderson continues to be first choice.
Agent confirms ‘lot of interest’
Livaković’s agent Andy Bara spoke to Croatia’s 24 Sata and said that his future should be clarified after the World Cup.
“Of course, there is a lot of interest because he is a world-class goalkeeper,” he said.
“However, at the moment we are neither talking nor thinking about a transfer because Dominik is focused on Dinamo and the World Cup and nothing else. When the time comes, we will talk about it, but there are no changes at the moment.”
Developments needed for Crystal Palace move
Dominik Livaković’s contract at Fenerbahçe lasts until 2028, and Transfermarkt value him at €4m. If he and Ederson were to leave, the Turkish club have to look for a new No.1.
Fenerbahçe are likely to sell the Croatian.
Livaković’s agent has confirmed “a lot of interest”, meaning the stopper won’t be short of options in the summer. Whether the presence of Dean Henderson would kill this attempt is unclear.
