Leeds United are among the clubs chasing Marseille’s Bilal Nadir ahead of the summer.

The midfielder’s contract expires in June, allowing him to leave the Ligue 1 side for free.

On April 22nd, Sport Witness relayed news that Leeds United are in the mix to sign him for nothing.

The 22-year-old had come close to agreeing a new contract, but there’s been several changes at the club.

Both Roberto De Zerbi and president Pablo Longoria have left Marseille and sporting director Medhi Benatia will leave after this season.

Boost for Leeds United and his suitors

Africa Foot report Bilal Nadir has decided to leave the French club as a free agent.

He’s attracting interest from European clubs and both the player and his entourage want to take advantage of this.

RC Strasbourg are keeping a close watch on the France-born Morocco U23 international. From Spain, Girona have been attentive to his situation and continue to monitor him. Villarreal also have the midfielder on their list.

Leeds United are the interested party from England. The report states Daniel Farke’s side have positioned themselves to secure his services, using their financial power and the Premier League’s appeal.

His entourage wants a net salary of €1.2m per year and a signing on bonus of €2.5m, and the Elland Road club should be able to meet his demand.

The sporting project is also an important factor. The player wants a project where he can enjoy regular game time and have a significant role in the team.

There’s a ‘tug of war’ involving the Whites and other clubs for the free signing, and there’s no mention of his preference among these four suitors.

Nadri’s stats and value

The Moroccan has played 862 minutes from 28 matches this season, managing a goal and five assists.

Bilal Nadir has been on the sidelines since April 19th with a hamstring injury. His game time has been restricted due to three different injuries, forcing him to miss seven matches this season.

Transfermarkt value him at €9m, but Leeds United or another club can sign him for free in the summer.
