A few days ago we covered a claim from Portugal which stated Crystal Palace have made a €15m offer to sign Marcus Edwards.
That Eagles bid wasn’t thought to be enough, with it stated Sporting were holding out for €25-30m. At the time, we explained that was quite an ambitious price point for Benfica to hold, and it would be unlikely Crystal Palace would pay that as a flat fee.
A Bola have since published an update.
Crystal Palace’s €15m offer again gets a mention, although this time it’s claimed Sporting won’t go below €20m. That certainly feels more realistic.
Oliver Glasner is said to be a ‘big fan’ of the winger, having appreciated him for some time. Therefore, it’s reported Crystal Palace are ‘willing to increase’ their offer.
Al-Nassr are dragged back into the equation, with the Saudi club willing to offer better financial terms, but Edwards would prefer a return to England.
Tottenham are due 35% of the transfer fee, agreed when Edwards first moved Portugal and then carried over into his Sporting contract.
