Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest are in the picture for FC Krasnodar’s Jhon Córdoba, according to Caracol Radio’s El VBar Caracol.

The striker joined the Russian club from Hertha BSC in 2021 and has starred for them. He’s managed 38 goals and 18 assists from 78 games, out of which 11 goals and four assists are from this season.

Córdoba has been noticed by Premier League sides, where he’s on the radar of Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest.

It’s further claimed the 30-year-old is an ‘option to reinforce the attack’ of both the Eagles and Nuno Espírito Santo’s side, likely in the winter market. The Colombia international’s contract lasts until 2025 and it’s not clear whether he’s willing to make a switch to England.

Nottingham Forest are 15th in the table, a point behind 14th placed Crystal Palace, and four points ahead of Luton Town, who are in the relegation zone.

Last summer, The Guardian reported the Premier League ‘would strongly discourage its clubs’ from doing business with Russian teams, following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

This was highlighted when Spartak Moscow tried signing Davinson Sánchez, who was then at Tottenham Hotspur.

It needs to be seen whether this would impact Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest considering signing Córdoba from Krasnodar in January.
