On Wednesday, we relayed news that Liverpool would like to sign Fluminense star André Trindade quickly, and count on Jorge Mendes to help them carry out the deal.
Later that day, ESPN Brasil stated the Reds are ready offer up to €30m for the midfielder and the Brazilian club could sell him if Argentinos Juniors knock them out of the Copa Libertadores on August 8th.
Liverpool have already made contact with Fluminense. Lance! echo this but say the Brazilian side haven’t received an offer for the 22-year-old, who has a €40m release clause.
That may soon change.
Fluminense are aware of the Merseyside club’s ‘concrete interest’ and it’s said Liverpool are ‘close to submitting an official offer’ to sign the Brazil international.
The report says the parties involved in the deal are very cautious but Fluminense did not refuse to hold talks. Their participation in the Copa Libertadores is the ‘main obstacle’ for André’s transfer to take shape in the coming weeks.
Rádio Globo journalist Victor Lessa, relayed by Netflu, claims Fluminense are ‘internally preparing to receive’ an offer from Jürgen Klopp’s side. He adds the ‘negotiations will only go ahead’ if Liverpool meet the Brazilian club’s demands.
Fluminense had an agreement in place with André and his representatives to retain him until the end of this year. That could change if Liverpool were to match their request this summer.
