Manchester City’s Sergio Gómez has emerged as a new target for Galatasaray, according to a report from Turkey.
The Istanbul club have been chasing for a new left-back throughout the winter market and the need to strengthen the same position has only increased after Angeliño’s exit.
Fotomaç state the Süper Lig side have now added the Manchester City player to their target list.
Galatasaray can still bring in new players because the mid-season transfer window in Turkey is open until February 9th.
It’s claimed Galatasaray ‘want to sign’ the 23-year-old, who fits into the requirements of their manager, Okan Buruk, in the next few days.
Gómez is currently the only recognised left-back at Manchester City but Pep Guardiola has favoured others ahead of him this season. The Spaniard’s been restricted to 10 games, including 18 minutes of action from three league games.
Galatasaray have shown interest in the fullback in the past and he’s back on their agenda. The outlet believes he could consider leaving Manchester City due to limited game time, and whether that is the case needs to be seen.
Gómez’s deal at Manchester City lasts until 2026 and Fotomaç say he’s currently valued at €10m.
