It appears to be Marcus Rashford day as he works to get out of Manchester United, with Barcelona currently out in front for him.
Reports around the forward have been coming in from every man and his dog, and now Calciomercato.it have jumped into the mix.
They reported that Barcelona are currently waiting for Rashford’s brother and agents to close the deal for the Manchester United outcast.
Manchester United still want a mandatory €45m feel but Barcelona would instead like to secure a loan that would see them pay €10m up front and then have a €30m option to buy Rashford next summer. That would include bonuses. They are not committing to buying him permanently at this moment in time.
CM.it also report that the plan is spread the player’s salary to 2028 or 2029. That would presumably be so they can register him and avoid issues they’ve had with signings such as Dani Olmo in the past.
Now, CM.it’s information is just one small piece of a lot of it, with pretty much every journalist from every country reporting their own angles on Rashford at this moment in time.
It means we’ll take anything with a pinch of salt as this very much feels like the transfer burning bring again for a short time and they dying off again. That’s happened on several occasions already this summer.
The Spanish press have also been pretty low key on the Rashford-Barcelona drama, with a report today even suggesting Barcelona were being put off by the way Manchester United are so keen to get rid of him.
We’d suggest that talks are simply taking place, again, and there’s more left to be said on this before anything is concluded or Rashford is at the Camp Nou doing skills for the camera.
