Sevilla have taken advantage of talks with Brighton and Hove Albion to cancel Valentin Barco’s loan deal, to ask about signing Julio Enciso instead.

That’s according to Vamos Mi Sevilla, relaying information from journalist Manolo Aguilar, stating Barco will be sent back to Brighton in January.

They explain that the Argentine full back is no longer wanted by Sevilla and isn’t playing for two reasons, because he does not defend well and because of his attitude. In terms of the latter, it’s claimed the 20-year-old believes he is better than he is.

Sevilla absolutely aren’t convinced, and manager García Pimienta simply doesn’t want him. Talks are happening with Brighton to end the loan deal.

But Sevilla have taken advantage of these conversations to in turn ‘request’ the loan of Julio Enciso instead.

He’s currently not enjoying a leading role with the Seagulls and has even found himself in the Under 21s, so a ‘way out’ is being sought for him in the January transfer market.

Sevilla are aware of this and have taken the opportunity to position themselves to take him, potentially even using the spot in their squad they’ll open up by getting rid of Barco.
