Nice are ‘ready to listen’ to offers of €50 for midfielder Khéphren Thuram if the likes of Liverpool are willing to pay it for him.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say the French will still sell at the right price despite claims Thuram has decided to stay with them for another year.
We covered a report yesterday that explained how Thuram had made the decision to extend his stay with Nice into a fifth year after failing to receive any serious offers despite reported interest from the likes of Liverpool.
FM follow that up today and state that Thuram ‘still arouses envy’ around Europe but so far, no club has offered a figure that matches Nice’s expectations.
Thuram, for his part, is not going to push for a move but despite that the file is ‘far from closed’ as Nice are still ‘ready to listen’ to €50m offers for the player. If that bid were to arrive, then the midfielder ‘will leave’.
So far none of the interested clubs have shown themselves willing to let go of such a sum, with Liverpool simply a club who ‘appreciate him’ and nothing more.
At the moment, they’ve not made a bid and the biggest danger appears to be from Bayern Munich where Thomas Tuchel is a big fan.
The transfer window is yet to hit mid-July, though, and there are plenty of twists and turns left to be taken so Thuram could end up anywhere, but only if that €50m demand from Nice is met.
