On June 13th, Het Belang van Limburg reported Celtic’s Oh Hyeon-gyu is top of KRC Genk’s wanted list. It was also stated he’s keen on leaving Brendan Rodgers’ side in the summer window.
Later that day, Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri said the 23-year-old has agreed personal terms with the Jupiler Pro League side.
Earlier this week, HBVL explained Genk are still negotiating with Celtic for Oh Hyeon-gyu.
Het Laatste Nieuws state the Belgian club have already made an initial offer for the South Korea international. They don’t mention the details, but do say it was turned down by Celtic.
Genk aren’t willing to give up on the Celtic striker as the report claims they’ve ‘increased the bid’ to secure his services. This clearly indicates they want to get a deal over the line this summer.
HLN make no mention of Genk’s latest bid or the fee needed to convince Celtic.
Celtic will have to make a decision on whether or not to keep an attacker who has clocked in over 1,300 minutes from 47 games since joining them in January 2023.
