Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite has been on loan at PSV Eindhoven since last summer and has impressed for the Eredivisie side.
The centre-back has scored four goals from 20 matches in all competitions this season. Last week, PSV manager Ruud van Nistelrooy urged the Dutch club to do everything they can to buy him from the Toffees.
Branthwaite has a deal until 2025 at Everton and PSV are not the only club looking at him. Leggo, relayed by Giallorossi.net, explain the defender is in the sights of AS Roma for next summer.
José Mourinho has been clear about wanting a new left-footed centre-back next season. Roma chief Tiago Pinto is already at work and the Everton man’s name stands out among the players monitored by the Giallorossi.
The Serie A side have sent scouts to the Netherlands to closely follow the 20-year-old in action for PSV. They have been monitoring the defender for some time and he seems to have impressed them. Branthwaite’s valuation, as per the report, is currently at €3m.
It is unlikely Everton would sell him for the aforementioned figure considering they were reportedly demanding a fee between €7m and €10m for Branthwaite in January.
Even that seemed on the low side.
As ever, Serie A sides dream about price.
