It’s clear Frank Lampard won’t be counting on Antonio Rudiger this season, and the Germany international is one of several players who could leave Stamford Bridge before the window closes on Monday.
There had been links to Tottenham over the past week or so, and now it looks like AC Milan are working to get a deal done. Calciomercato report the Serie A side are in ‘constant contact’ with Chelsea over a potential move for Rudiger.
The two clubs are communicating via conference call, with Milan trying to force Chelsea down on their asking price. That money would be for a loan move for the current season, and there’s no talk of a buying option for next summer.
Rudiger himself is pushed forward as being keen on a switch to Milan, and he’s likely impressed by their start to the season. Having played three league matches so far this season, the Rossoneri have picked up nine points and are second only to Atalanta on goal difference.
