It seems we could now have a rather interesting Serie A race taking place for West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca.
According to the latest reports from the Italian media, Inter Milan have now added themselves to the battle for his signing.
The exclusive news from Sport Italia claims that the Nerazzurri made a recent ‘exploratory survey’ with West Ham for the transfer.
It’s said Inter Milan wanted to ‘understand’ the Hammers’ request for the sale, and ‘possibly’ advance for the signing in the future.
What makes this report more interesting is that earlier this week, other stories from the Italian media claimed that Scamacca had been offered to the Nerazzurri.
It was said the striker’s agent contacted Inter Milan to put the player on their table, as his main priority this summer is to return to Italy.
It now appears the Nerazzurri took note of that option and have acted on it, having now contacted West Ham about the potential move.
That situation will certainly make things awkward for AS Roma, who had been engaged in serious talks for the transfer and now see big local competition for him.
