For the last few days, there have been rumours of Wolverhampton Wanderers wanting to sign CA Osasuna’s David García in the winter market.
It was also stated the Premier League side are willing to pay the centre-back’s €20m release clause.
This has been relayed by AS, who then provide their own information on this case. They state the 28-year-old’s displays for the La Liga side have attracted attention from elsewhere, including from Wolves.
The newspaper states sources from the Spanish club have informed them that they are aware Julen Lopetegui’s side would like to bring the defender to Molineux. They also add that it is ‘no secret’ the former Real Madrid manager has ‘always liked’ the player.
Despite Lopetegui being a fan of his compatriot and Wolves’ desire to sign García in the next window, AS make it clear that Osasuna have not received any offer from the Premier League side so far.
If Wolves take this step for January, the report explains the transfer will only take shape if the English club decide to pay García’s release clause.
