Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot has ‘decided’ he wants to stay at AC Milan, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.
The 22-year-old spent the 2020/21 season on loan with the Serie A side and there’s been reports the Rossoneri have a desire to retain him for the next campaign.
Earlier this week, we relayed news from Italy that Stefano Pioli has given his approval to make an effort to sign the defender.
The fullback has taken João Cancelo’s place in Portugal’s squad for Euro 2020 after the Manchester City player tested positive for Covid-19.
While with the national team, he has made a decision for his future. TMW state Dalot’s ‘will’ is to continue with the Italian club and his desire ‘coincides’ with Milan’s intention of retaining him.
It’s claimed Pioli’s side want to take the Red Devils man on a new loan deal. The report, however, doesn’t mention of any option or mandatory clause to make the former FC Porto man’s stay permanent at the San Siro.
Both Dalot and Milan are now ‘waiting’ for the response from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
Portuguese newspaper Record back up TMW’s claim, and state the player’s desire it to extend his stay at the San Siro.
They further add Milan have ‘presented a proposal with purchase option’, and they, along with Dalot, ‘await a positive response’ from Manchester United.
