Chelsea loaned out Renato Veiga to Juventus in the winter transfer window in the hope that the defender would get some regular game time.

That hasn’t happened for Veiga early in his stint in Turin as he’s played three Serie A games and two Champions League matches, before falling to an injury.

After a good start, his performances have declined as he returned to action in the loss to Fiorentina over a week ago. He didn’t play the full game and was substituted early in the second half.

Gazzetta dello Sport have now taken note of the Portuguese’s future at Juventus and Chelsea.

They state, as relayed by SportNapoli, that the 21-year-old has not convinced many at the Bianconeri and as a result, his loan stint will definitely expire in the summer.

There are ‘clear signals’ emerging from Italy that the versatile defender will return to Chelsea.

When Veiga was doing well early in his stint at the Serie A giants, there was talk that Juventus could try to sign him on a permanent basis in the summer.

Now, that possibility has floated away and perhaps, Juve’s own sorry situation has a role to play in all of this.
