Earlier on Monday, we covered a story from Gazzetta dello Sport claiming that Manchester United were keeping an eye on the situation of Francesco Camarda.
The 16-year-old has yet to sign a professional contract with AC Milan, meaning other clubs can approach him, and it appears the Red Devils have done just that.
The news comes from Calciomercato’s Andrea Longoni, who has an article on the website claiming that Manchester United have made their move.
This all comes at a time when the future of Olivier Giroud is up in the air, and while Camarda is not ready to take on that mantle, he would be the long-term solution for the striker role at San Siro.
However, he may not be there if interested clubs have their way, and it’s claimed that Manchester United have made a ‘very important offer’ to the player.
Add on top of that the ‘very cold relations’ between Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who appears to be dealing with this issue, and the player’s entourage, and there is a worry he could sign elsewhere.
Regardless of what happens, Camarda cannot move to England until he is 18 because of the new Brexit rules, but that wouldn’t stop him from being loaned to other clubs in the meantime, much like Tottenham have done with Luka Vuskovic.
That’s why Longoni argues that he hopes the youngster decides what’s best for him, and that would be to ignore the advances of Manchester United and stay at Milan.
If he doesn’t, it would ‘be a defeat for everyone’, that being the club, the player’s entourage and his family.
