There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Galatasaray have made an offer to sign Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay.
The Scotland international has been linked with a move to the Turkish champions in recent weeks, as they look for a midfielder.
Haber Sarikirmizi have reported on comments Ali Naci Küçük made to Raydo Gol when discussing Galatasaray’s interest in the Manchester United man. The Turkish journalist revealed the Super Lig club have come in with a €15m offer.
That is obviously laughably low, and it’s said the Red Devils want €30m.
However, Küçük believes Galatasaray will be patient with their pursuit of McTominay and are hoping Manchester United could drop the price if no other offers come in for him before the window closes.
“Galatasaray have submitted an offer of €15m to Manchester United. Manchester United, on the other hand, wanted €30m. If Manchester United don’t get the offers they want, McTominay could go to Galatasaray for €20m. Let me remind you, Galatasaray signed Mauro Icardi in September,” said Küçük.
Galatasaray are looking to bring in an experienced central midfielder in this window, with reports today they are also considering Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips. It was claimed they could come in with an offer for the former Leeds United player after being given the chance to sign him.
McTominay made 43 appearances for Manchester United last season, scoring 10 goals. He’s contracted to the club until June 2025, and they have the option to extend this for another year.
A move to Turkey is unlikely, and therefore confidence from the Turkish media on behalf of Galatasaray feels misplaced.
