Ignacio Pussetto doesn’t fancy a return to Watford in the summer, and would quite happily continue playing for Udinese, the player has made clear in comments to the Italian media.

The 25-year-old joined Watford in the January 2020 transfer window, as the club looked to retain their place in the Premier League. He’d signed for the Hornets from Udinese, in what looked to be a Pozzo family special.

Playing just 67 minutes in total for Watford, across seven matches, Pussetto was a complete failure of a signing and had zero impact as the club failed to survive in England’s top division.

He then moved back to Udinese on loan for the season and before picking up a cruciate knee injury was doing much better than he had at Watford.

Speaking to Il Gazzetino, and relayed by Udinese Blog, Pussetto said: “I am owned by Watford, who have loaned me, but here in Friuli I feel good and I would gladly stay, even if the choice doesn’t depend on me.”

What happens next will be entirely down to the Pozzo family, however, given the attacker has shown far more for Udinese than he did at Watford it would seem strange if he returns to English football in the summer.
