Before Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion, Eden Hazard hadn’t scored a goal since October 7th, in a 3-0 victory over Southampton.

He’d been picking up assists, especially in the most recent games, but the goals simply weren’t coming, and for a player with the talent of Hazard that couldn’t continue indefinitely.

The Belgian international now has eight Premier League goals so far this season and nine assists.

Chelsea’s star man against Brighton, Hazard set up Pedro for the first before finding the back of the net himself after half an hour.

The 27 year old’s performance was not only appreciated by the Chelsea faithful and manager Maurizio Sarri, he’s also been named in today’s Gazzetta dello Sport European Team of the Week.

Each Monday the Italian newspaper pick out an eleven of the best performers from around Europe, whilst ignoring their own Serie A, and Hazard is one of four players included from the Premier League.
