Chelsea forward Joao Felix would be ‘delighted’ to return to Benfica this summer and wants the move to happen.

That’s according to Record, who report that the forward believes he can be a ‘valuable player’ at the Portuguese club and get his career back on track.

They report that Benfica president Rui Costa wants it, manager Bruno Lage wants it and the now the Chelsea forward wants it as well.

That is why the hypothesis of Felix becoming a reinforcement for the Club World Cup this summer is ‘gaining more and more strength’. Any deal would be a loan with Chelsea covering part of his wages.

Chelsea are open to selling Felix despite spending €52m on him last summer and would consider another loan deal like the one that currently has him at AC Milan.

There’s simply ‘no room’ for the Portuguese forward and they want to resolve the 25-year-old’s future as soon as possible.

Rui Costa would like to have Felix back in the squad by June, when Benfica travel to the United States to compete in the Club World Cup. The move has been sanctioned by Lage, who recently admitted to speaking to two former academy players about returning. The Chelsea man was one of them according to Record.

Work is now underway to try and make that happen, but it will require Chelsea playing their part and sanctioning another loan deal this summer.
