Chelsea failed in their attempt to sign Club Brugge’s Antonio Nusa towards the end of the last summer window.
Last September, the winger revealed the Blues had offered him a “lot of money”, which he rejected, to continue his development at the Jupiler Pro League side. The 18-year-old was then confident that he would receive offers again as he’s been sought after by big clubs.
Thursday’s edition of Het Nieuwsblad suggests Chelsea could return to make another attempt to sign him.
The Norway international has scored three goals and registered three assists from 25 matches this season.
Last week, he told the same newspaper about his desire to finish the season at Club Brugge, so that he can further improve his game. Nusa’s current deal lasts until 2027 and the outlet says he’s valued at around €17m.
Het Nieuwsblad talk about the west London club’s failed attempt to sign the teenager in 2023 and add that they ‘continue to lurk’ around him.
They suggest that once the likes of Chelsea set their sight on a talent, they ‘don’t let go easily’.
A deal remains difficult this month because both Nusa and Club Brugge want to continue together.
Chelsea’s ‘interest is known’ and there are other clubs keeping a close eye on the Norwegian.
