Chelsea have identified RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško as a target to improve their attack, and are looking to beat Arsenal to the player.

That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, and he covers the Blues interest in his column for Sky Sport CH.

Nicolas Jackson is Chelsea’s first-choice striker in the league and managed nine goals and four assists from 21 Premier League matches.

Jackson, as per Tavolieri, hasn’t fully convinced the Blues and they are looking for a new striker for next season. This is why Šeško has been identified as a target, with Arsenal keen for a while.

Šeško has scored 13 goals and registered three assists from 25 games this season and his form has seen him attract interest from Chelsea and Arsenal.

Enzo Maresca’s side are ready to compete and beat their league rivals for the Slovenia international’s signature. To do this, Chelsea have been in contact with his agent and have also held talks with Leipzig.

Tavolieri states Chelsea contacted the German side to gather information and to improve their chances of securing Šeško’s services.

He adds the frontman has ‘received authorisation’ from Leipzig to change clubs if there is an offer of €80m. As Chelsea are looking at Šeško for the summer, developments are not expected anytime soon.
