A Bola have confirmed Celtic and Southampton were on the scouting list for last night’s Champions League group stage clash, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

A number of Premier League clubs were also in attendance which included West Ham United, Crystal Palace, West Bromwich Albion, Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea. A Bola haven’t reported who these clubs were watching, but there was an array of talent on show for both sides.

Despite there being no confirmation of Celtic’s and Southampton’s targets the two clubs have attended Benfica games on a regular basis in recent years.

Under former manager Ronald Koeman, and with his links after coaching Benfica, Southampton upped their presence in Portugal in the past two years, and were also recently seen at Porto’s clash with AS Roma.

Celtic were also seen this season at Benfica’s league game with Setubal before returning for last night’s game.
