Portuguese newspaper A Bola say the visitor from Celtic Park was one of a number of scouts present, with teams including Manchester United, Liverpool, both Milan clubs, Juventus, Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund also having someone there.
There’s no suggestion of who Celtic were watching but the Lindelof links will be boosted. That would probably be the wrong conclusion, given the wider interest now in Lindelof, it’s stated Juve were watching him specifically, the price is now likely out of Celtic’s range.
Indeed, most Benfica players are likely out of Celtic’s range but they’ve still been sending scouts for quite some time. It’s certainly ambitious, or maybe someone is just getting into Benfica games for free by pretending they’re a Celtic scout.
