Burnley are interested in Wolfsburg defender Paulo Otávio, according to claims this week.
The news comes from the player’s home country, where Brazilian outlet UOL talks about the race for his signing at the end of the season.
It’s claimed that with several sides engaging in a chase for Paulo Otávio, he should indeed ‘change clubs’ this summer.
UOL writes that Burnley, Al Saad, CSKA and and Mallorca have all ‘shown interest’ and ‘should make bids soon’.
It’s recalled that Mallorca, Besiktas and Union Berlin have all tried to sign the player in the past, but none of them reached the price requested by Wolfsburg.
The story doesn’t make it clear how much the Bundesliga side will demand for the fullback, who’s valued by Transfermarkt at €8m.
With Burnley ready to reinforce their squad ahead of their return to the Premier League, that will be an interesting chase to watch.
We’ve recently seen the player admitting that Brighton & Hove Albion had also tried to sign him in January, so that may be an English competition for the Clarets to keep an eye on.
