Burnley are showing ‘strong interest’ in Bristol City midfielder Han-Noah Massengo as he looks set to become a free agent at the end of the month.
That’s according to GOAL France, who say Burnley are watching the French market ‘carefully’ and it would not be a surprise to see several players making the move to Turf Moor as a result.
The first player they’ve looked at is Massengo, who is out of contract at Bristol City this summer following a six-month loan spell at Auxerre.
He’s managed to impress with the French side and Vincent Kompany and his team have taken notice, so much so that he has placed the midfielder at the top of his transfer wish list.
There have been ‘initial exchanges’ between the two parties although Burnley are yet to make a ‘concrete offer’ despite this.
They face potential competition from the Bundesliga for the 21-year-old, who has been with Bristol City since 2019 after an €8m move from Monaco B.
He’s been playing in the Championship since and made 110 appearances in that time but is now set to depart and could be set for a step up to the Premier League with Burnley.
