Brighton & Hove Albion have Feyenoord’s Santiago Giménez on their agenda, according to claims coming out of Mexico.

Recent reports have stated the Dutch club are showing interest in FC Augsburg’s Ricardo Pepi. This is relayed by Fox Sports, who then explain he could replace Giménez at Feyenoord next season.

The Mexico international’s displays have already put him in the sights of a few clubs like Brighton, Porto, Benfica and Sevilla.

Giménez has managed 21 goals and three assists from 40 matches in all competitions in his debut season at the club.

Over at SDP Noticias, they explain the 21-year-old is wanted by several teams across Europe and the Seagulls are the most recent club to be added to the list.

It’s claimed Roberto De Zerbi’s side ‘want the goalscoring instinct’ of the striker, who has a deal until 2026.

Should Brighton have a firm interest in securing the Mexican’s services, they need to act fast. Portuguese journalist Pedro Sepúlveda claims Benfica have already started talks with his agent.

He adds Feyenoord value Giménez between €20m and €25m and it could ‘make it difficult’ for Benfica to sign him. Sepúlveda doesn’t mention Brighton but the fee quoted shouldn’t be an issue for the Premier League side.
