Brighton & Hove Albion‘s Diego Coppola could be on the move this summer.
The Italy international ended his five-year spell at Hellas Verona to join Brighton in June 2025.
Fabian Hürzeler didn’t utilise the centre-back regularly restricting him to 542 minutes from nine games in the first half of the season. It includes 194 minutes from five league matches for the Seagulls.
He was unhappy with the limited role and pushed for a loan move to Paris FC in January.
In March, the 22-year-old thanked Brighton for understanding his needs and sanctioning a loan.
At that time, he said: “I asked to go because I wanted more playing time. They didn’t want to let me go. Hürzeler would have liked to keep me for the group, because I had a close relationship with the boys and young players.”
The defender started the first two matches on the bench for the Ligue 1 side. After that, he played every minute in the league, finishing with 1,170 minutes from 13 matches.
Brighton set conditions for exit

The Serie A side’s centre-backs, Alessio Romagnoli and Mario Gila, are likely to change clubs.
Romagnoli has an agreement with Al-Sadd, who are offering €4m including bonuses while the Biancocelesti are demanding €10m.
Gila, who has already refused to sign an extension, wants to join an ambitious club and Napoli are keen.
Lazio chairman Claudio Lotito has set a €30m price for the Spaniard.
Faced with the possibility of losing the duo, Lazio sporting director Angelo Mariano Fabiani will evaluate deals for Coppola and Borussia Monchengladbach’s Fabio Chiarodia.
He would cost around €8m while the Brighton & Hove Albion player is available on loan with a €12m purchase option. Signing these two defenders won’t impact the Italian club’s budget.
Brighton man’s value can improve further
According to Transfermarkt, Diego Coppola’s value was €10m in December and increased to €18m after a loan to Paris FC.
His contract at The Amex lasts until 2030 and a fresh loan move to Lazio could see him enjoy more minutes. This in return would further improve his value and the Seagulls could sell him for a higher price in 2027, that would involve not including a purchase option.
