Juventus’ Enzo Barrenechea has ended up on Brighton & Hove Albion’s radar, according to Calciomercato.
The 22-year-old joined the Turin club from Swiss side Sion in 2020, a year after he arrived in Europe from Newell’s Old Boys.
Barrenechea has starred for Frosinone since joining them on loan last summer, and both Brighton and Girona have taken notice.
Operating mainly as a defensive midfielder, he’s made 24 appearances this season, managing a goal and an assist in the process. The 22-year-old is under ‘special observation’ from both the Seagulls and the La Liga side.
The Argentine is making a name for himself at Frosinone and the likes of Brighton and other clubs sending their scouts to watch him live has increased.
It’s said Roberto De Zerbi’s side and Girona have made contact with the South American’s entourage for a potential deal, likely after this season.
Barrenechea’s contract at Juventus lasts until 2026 and Calciomercato claim they value him at ‘no less than €15-20m’.
As of now, it’s not clear whether Massimiliano Allegri will include him in his plans next season or if the Old Lady will sell him in the summer.
