Last week, Corriere dello Sport reported AS Roma had reached an agreement over the terms of a deal for Brighton’s Evan Ferguson.

The Italian side had agreed to sign the striker on an initial loan deal with the option to buy but discussions were ongoing to determine the exact figures.

Corriere dello Sport have an update and report that while Brighton have demanded €45m as the option to buy, a compromise can be reached at €35m.

Previously, Roma only wanted to offer €25m but it seems as if negotiations have led to developments as both clubs are trying to find a ‘middle ground’ in the deal.

As a result, confidence is rising about the completion of the move, with the newspaper stating that the next 48 hours will be vital. Roma are hoping to strike a final agreement with Brighton in that period, with manager Gian Piero Gasperini very keen on making a move happen as soon as possible.

Ferguson’s stance on the transfer to the Giallorossi has been positive and this is the driving force behind the negotiations, as the Irishman looks to rejuvenate his career.
