Brighton & Hove Albion are in the mix to sign Juventus’ Samuel Iling-Junior.
The 19-year-old left Chelsea to join the Serie A side’s academy in 2020. He was promoted to their first team earlier this season, managing two assists from three matches.
Iling-Junior’s deal runs down in 2023 and Calciomercato state securing his renewal is a priority for the Turin club’s chief, Federico Cherubini.
At the same time, there are other clubs showing interest in him. This includes RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt and… ‘Brighton, above all’.
These clubs would immediately launch him into their senior team.
From England, Roberto De Zerbi’s side are the only club named. It’s explained ‘they try from the Premier League’ to bring the winger back to the country. It won’t be easy for the Seagulls and others to sign the teenager since Juve want to secure his long-term future.
A team led by Iling-Junior’s agent, Franck Trimboli, were in Turin a few weeks ago to talk about their client’s renewal. Along with the finances, the discussion also revolved around Juve’s sporting plan for him.
A gradual path into Massimiliano Allegri’s plan doesn’t seem like a step backwards for the attacker, even though Brighton, RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt would plan to have Iling-Junior in their first team.
There’s total willingness between the player and Juve to continue their association beyond 2023. The club will be waiting for Iling-Junior’s signature to tie him down to a new deal until 2026 and Calciomercato state this could take place after the World Cup break.
