Following his press conference where he was asked about whether or not he should have left Everton this summer, Amadou Onana also spoke one on one to some members of the media.
One of the outlets he had a chat with what RTL Info, who are one of the biggest radio stations in the country, where he addressed a couple of topics.
With Everton’s situation currently rather dire in the Premier League, there is a lot of pressure surrounding the Goodison Park side these days, and the break will allow everyone to step away, assess the situation and come back clear headed.
That’s something Onana will be trying to do, as he revealed how nice it was to be back with the Belgium squad.
He said: “It’s a breath of fresh air. It’s a change of environment, it allows you to see something else. I’m happy to see my friends too, because I wasn’t here during the last group. It’s great to find this shirt again.”
It’s clear that while he is happy to be at Everton as a player and featuring in the Premier League week in and week out, everything currently surrounding the club isn’t always sunshines and rainbows.
Therefore, it’s understandable that a break can be nice for players, even if there is little need to publicly state it to the press in your home country.
