Everton‘s Nathan Patterson sealed a late move to Torino and more details are now emerging about the transfer.
Over the past few months, Sport Witness regularly covered that Italy as a potential destination for the right-back. Bologna and Genoa were interested at one point but they never made an offer.
Torino have now signed him for a low fee and Everton have secured a 30% sell-on clause.
Despite Patterson’s injury troubles, there is no regret about the move.

TuttoSport look at the right-back’s fitness problems in the last few years. The newspaper note that injuries combined with tactical reasons ‘doomed’ his period in Merseyside and that is why Everton took little time in letting him go.
Torino have signed Patterson ‘practically for free’. This was key to the transfer and made the Scotsman an attractive target. They feel his arrival won’t challenge the regulars like Alessio Cacchiamani and fellow new signing Rafik Belaghali. Torino were aware of his troubles but see him as an appropriate choice for the back-up right back role.
The newspaper adds that the deal didn’t come out of nowhere. The defender had spoken to compatriot and new teammate Che Adams about a move to Turin. The striker convinced him about the destination, which also helped in the deal progressing quickly.
At Torino, the 24-year-old’s fitness will be key. If he can replicate his promise from his time at Rangers, things could be back on track. There will be limited pressure to impress and this can help him.
