On Tuesday, there was a surprise to see reports saying Barcelona are interested in Hull City winger Jaden Philogene.
The Spanish media revealed the interest, and now we get to see this story developing a little.
Journalist Jordi Cardero shows up to explain the reasons Barcelona are interested in the Hull City player.
It’s said the Camp Nou side see Philogene as a ‘market opportunity’. Partly because he has some qualities that they’ve been looking for, and he’s ‘capable of sinking the opponent and damaging them in small spaces’.
According to the report, Barcelona have been following the player ‘for months’, and he’s part of the club’s plan to sign young and cheap players.
Philogene joined Hull City in a €5.8m move from Aston Villa last summer. In his season in the Championship, he had 12 goals and six assists in 32 appearances.
That’s why he’s now valued by Transfermarkt at €15m, besides being committed to the Tigers with a contract running until 2026, with an option for an extra year. So we shall see how much Barcelona would be ready to invest on him.
