Aston Villa are keen on signing Hellas Verona’s Cyril Ngonge in the winter market.
On Wednesday, TuttoMercatoWeb reported the Villans have reached an agreement with the Serie A side after making a €10m bid.
This is partly backed up by L’Arena, relayed by Tutto Hellas Verona, who state Aston Villa’s offer of €10m plus €2m is ‘on the table’.
The 23-year-old isn’t keen on making a switch to Villa Park. He has also never hidden his desire to continue in Serie A, where Fiorentina have their eyes set on the player.
The Premier League side’s desire to sign the Belgian in January is also discussed in today’s Gazzetta dello Sport.
It’s claimed Hellas Verona are handling an offer from Unai Emery’s side but the attacker favours staying in Italy. This could give La Viola an advantage but the newspaper warns them that they will have to act fast, if they want to get a deal over the line.
Aston Villa would be hoping Fiorentina delay or don’t make an approach, so that they can push to sign the player this month.
Ngonge has been used across multiple attacking positions this season, where he has managed five goals and two assists from 19 games.
