Aston Villa have now approved Enzo Barrenechea’s loan move to Valencia, after previously blocking it.
That’s according to journalist Cesar Luis Merlo and Plaza Deportiva, who both report that the move is back on.
Merlo states that Aston Villa have given Barrenechea the green light to move to Valencia on loan without an option to buy.
The deal between the two clubs is not yet closed because there are still aspects of the deal to be resolved but there is every chance that it will go through.
Plaza Deportiva say the same, reporting that Aston Villa and Valencia have ‘reestablished talks’ for the midfielder to move to Spain on loan.
The talks were practically broken earlier this week, with Villa having a change of heart on the matter due to internal issues. It was heavily suggested that injuries elsewhere in their squad had seen them decide to hold Barrenechea back.
Negotiations between the two sides have now been reactivated but there is no definitive agreement in place at this moment in time.
Aston Villa and Valencia are working against the clock for it, though, and its very much back on the table after previously being pulled away.
Maybe it was all an effort to encourage Valencia to put a few extra Euros down.
