Over the past few days, Aston Villa’s Diego Carlos has flirted with a move to Sevilla after a fake rumour appeared on social media.
The centre-back spent three years at the La Liga side before leaving them for Aston Villa in 2022.
On Sunday, Diario de Sevilla reported the 31-year-old is ‘not comfortable’ at Aston Villa, but a move back to the Spanish club has been ruled out.
Vamos Mi Sevilla FC say the Brazilian is looking to leave the Villans, and has been made available on the market this summer.
The Andalusian club, for their part, continue to insist that there is ‘absolutely nothing’ in the recent rumours linking Carlos with a move back to his former club.
With Carlos considering leaving leave Villa Park, the Premier League side could look at Sevilla to replace him. Aston Villa director Monchi sees Sevilla’s Löic Badé as an ‘interesting option’ to replace the South American.
The 24-year-old Frenchman initially joined the Spanish club on loan in January 2023 and they made his move permanent later that year.
Sevilla wouldn’t be against Badé’s sale in this window if there’s a €25m offer. The report states Unai Emery’s side could ‘assume the payment without problems’, meaning they can afford to pay €25m to sign the player.
