As far as transfer sagas go, Arsenal’s and Sergej Milinković-Savić’s has been dragging on for quite some time, with many feeling it’s already gone on for too long.
It’s nothing compared to the many years Manchester United fans have had to endure when it comes to the Serbia international, but the Gunners appear to have an interest in him, with this summer the perfect time to get him.
As explained by Il Messaggero and relayed by Calciomercato, the player’s contract expires in 2024, and this summer will be the final time for him to be sold for some money.
That’s caught the attention of a few clubs, including Arsenal, as well as Juventus, who are prepared to make an offer, but not meet the demands set by Lazio.
It’s stated they aren’t willing to put ‘more than €25m on the plate’ for the midfielder, which is a figure Claudio Lotito, the Rome club’s president, won’t accept.
He wants €40m, and is ‘waiting for the arrival of offers from the Premier League promised by the agent Mateja Kezman’.
For now, though, Arsenal have not made that first move, clearly more preoccupied with winning the Premier League than their summer transfer to date.
Either way, they know exactly how much they would need to pay for the midfielder, and should they really want him, won’t have a problem meeting said demands.
