Calciomercato report Arsenal have made initial contact over a move for Manuel Locatelli in the January transfer window.
The report states Mikel Arteta’s side have made contact to find out the midfielder’s intentions ahead of the winter market. Having moved from Sassuolo in 2021, initially on a loan deal, the 24-year-old hasn’t fully lived up to the hype which surrounded him.
As part of the loan, which was for two years, the Turin club then have an obligation to make the transfer permanent. This is a plan they’ve used multiple times, and it’s similar to how Moise Kean moved from Everton.
Whilst these deals can seem good business initially, there comes a time when the money needs to be paid and Juventus haven’t seen the deals as the brilliant signings they hoped for.
Therefore, Calciomercato say that if a ‘good offer’ arrives in January then it will be considered, with Arsenal pushed forward as one of the main options.
Manchester United have also been mentioned over the weekend, and there’s a chance the Premier League clubs are being used to hype Locatelli’s status a little. The report explains the midfielder is committed to Juventus and now needs to convince the club to pull him away from the market.
