Arsenal are keen on Keita Baldé Diao, report Le10 Sport on Wednesday afternoon.
The 24 year old moved to the French club in 2017 from Lazio. At the time he hadn’t wanted to leave Italian football, but no fee could be agreed with a Serie A club, which saw him go to the closest option outside of the country.
Monaco paid around €30m and then things didn’t go to plan, soon enough Keita was back in Italy, this time on loan with Inter Milan.
Le10 report Inter believe the €34m it would cost to make the loan permanent is too much, and he’s therefore going back to his parent club.
Arsenal have been ‘seduced’ and it’s made clear there’s been no ‘concrete’ effort from the Premier League club, they’re interested yet haven’t done anything serious about it just yet.
There’s every chance Keita once again has his heart set on staying in Serie A, and it’s made clear he’s not so keen on returning to the French principality club. Le10 believe a transfer is likely this summer, it’s just a matter of where.
Should Arsenal interest be genuine, then it’s probably best they find out the 24 year old’s intentions before getting too involved.
