Arsenal are continuing to scout Palmeiras youngster Luighi but may need as much as €80m to secure his signature.
That’s according to Nosso Palmeiras, who add their information to the growing reports around the 18-year-old today.
Luighi is seen as the latest talent to come off of the Palmeiras talent line, with many growing excited about the youngster and his potential.
Interest from Europe is already growing and after Southampton made a move in the summer it was reported this week that Arsenal had also seen a bid rejected by the Brazilian club.
Nosso Palmeiras now report that Luighi has ‘caught the attention’ of several European scouts and ‘already aroused’ the interest of the clubs they represent. Arsenal are one of them.
Palmeiras, though, do not seem willing to let the youngster go easily. They have already included an €80m release clause in his contract. That is a clear sign that their intention is to keep him.
Indeed, they see Luighi as ‘one of the main names’ for Palmeiras next season and any departure would significantly affect the clubs plans moving forwards.
Thus, they are likely to refuse any offers, from Arsenal or anyone else, for the player. That doesn’t’ rule out an exit entirely, of course, but it does mean the Gunners will have to pay big.
That’s not too surprising given Palmeiras have sold the likes of Danilo for €20m, Endrick for €47.m and Estevao for €34m in the last year alone.
