Arsenal have shown an interest in Real Betis winger Luiz Henrique, contacting the Spanish club about the 22-year-old’s situation.
That’s according to ABC Sevilla, who say the Brazilian has ‘caught the eye’ of scouts from the Emirates and elsewhere.
They explain that Henrique has become ‘the sensation of Real Betis’ this season, starring under Manuel Pellegrini since a move from Fluminense in the summer.
The Spanish side are benefitting from his performances on the pitch but also ‘rubbing their hands’ at the potential for a massive sale as his value continues to rise and seemingly has no ceiling.
Henrique is very much a ‘diamond in the rough’ that Pellegrini is polishing on a day to day basis and that has not gone unnoticed in the Premier League.
Arsenal have already ‘sent scouts’ to watch the player live and those visits have only confirmed that he is worth keeping an eye on.
They are the club that are ‘most interested in following’ his development, even going as far as to contact Betis to ask about the player’s financial situation and the conditions under which Betis would allow a sale.
At the moment Pellegrini and co aren’t interested. They are excited about the player but are calm in this market. They want to keep Henrique for the time being.
They believe his value now is nowhere near what it could be if he maintains his current progression and they want him to continue growing with them, as well as increasing his price.
Arsenal are very interested, though, and will remain in the background keeping an eye on his development ahead of a possible move in future.
